So i wear make-up...but only mascara and eye shadow. I can never find a good foundation and concealer that matches my skin tone. I like the really natural look and i dont want to look like im wearing make up.
This is me:

i also recommend Mineral Makeup. maybe u shud try Bare Minerals.Picking the right foundation and concealer?
I like the sheer liquid foundations from MAC, (or get a full coverage foundation and mix it with a bit of moisturizer to lighten it). MAC has great concealer too... If you go in the store they can help you find a color, and demonstrate how to use it.
I never think it looks heavy, and the concealer is great for covering blemishes. A bit of the sheer powder and your set, it takes about 5 minutes. (with liner and mascara)
On a budget, the covergirl liquid foundation (little bottle white or blue top) is actually pretty great. I used it for years before switching to MAC.
The other girl mentioned Bare essentials and I have a few friends who use that and love it too. I am a fan of liquid so it really comes down to preference I think.
Also when you start adding full foundation, make sure to check out the blush as well, you don't wanna go out with pale face on!
I can't see your pic on FaBo, getting an error message so I am not sure what color.
I personally like MAC's studiofix fluid in SPF 15 (NC 35) because it's not too heavy, gives you great coverage, and gives you an airbrushed look. I've tried Bareminerals and it didn't work out for my skin, but foundation's really your choice :) To choose your color, you can go to the store itself or makeup counter and ask a makeup artist to try the color out on you and from there, they'll tell you what shade you are.
For concealer, I use one by Maybelline and I always choose 2 shades lighter than my skintone. For dark undereye circles, one with a yellow undertone should counteract the purple color in the undereye circles. For blemishes, concealers with a green undertone counteract the redness.
Hope that helped! :)
Foundation is naturally kind of a hit and miss thing. The weird lights in most stores completely throw off the color and you can often end up buying the wrong thing. You're just going to have to experiment to find something that works for you.
If your skin is clear however, all you really need is a little concealer here and there for dark circles and minor blemishes. Concealer is a lot easier to find -- it should be about 3 shades lighter than your skin tone. They blend really well, so the color selection doesn't have to be precise. :)
ok well here when your looking for a foundation try loreal they have good make up and cover girl does too! when looking for a foundation your NOT suppose to match it with ur skin tone u match it with the color that ur neck is and down because that's what everyone will notice. Like if you have a darker neck and a lighter face ur gonna have to match it with your neck so it goes
The best concealer ever is Benefit's ooh la lift. The best foundations I've ever used are M.A.C mineralize satin finish spf15 foundation with M.A.C mineralize skin finish natural over it. Be sure to get matched up to your right shade. Hope this helps.
i agree, i like my skin to look naturally smooth and clear and not like im wearing a lot of makeup...u should google Dinair Airbrush Makeup...it awesome...its all water based so its not bad for ur skin and its also super light weight so it never gets cakey. it covers everything and makes my skin look flawless....i LOVE it. Ive been using it for the past 2 years and i wont ever go back to conventional makeup. anywho, hope i helped...=)
try mineral makeup. good, real mineral makeup. loreal bare naturale is prety good if you need it to be cheap. otherwise bare escentualsss! go in, get color matched, get a sample and try it out for a few days! either at a bare escentuals boutique or a sephora store!
I couldn't see your picture, so without it I'll do the best I can.
First, you want to determine if you are pale, medium, dark... Then you want to figure out if your undertone is pink, yellow, olive, sallow, ivory... That way you don't end up buying a foundation for pale, but pale pink when maybe you are olive.
When you get a foundation, you want to buy one that matches your skin tone. That may sound obvious, but so many women buy one that is darker than their tone so they look a little tanned. Don't do that! You will just look like you are wearing a foundation that is wrong for your skin, and it will look like bad make up instead of skin. If when you apply the foundation, it disappears on your skin and just evens you out, then you have the right color.
When you try it on to see if it matches, try it on at your jawline. That will give you a good idea if it matches or not. The best way to match one to you if you can't try it on your face is to try it on the inside of your wrist. That's usually closer to your skin on your face than the back of your hand since that gets sun an may tan a bit. Or in my case, my hand is completely different tone than my cheeks.
When you do apply it to your face to wear, make sure to blend it slightly off your jawline toward your neck. This way it fades out to your neck instead of having a line around your face. And recently I heard something that made sense but had never thought of. Blend the foundation slightly onto your ears as well. Not the whole ear, just a bit right by your face. It all helps the foundation fade into your skin and keeps you from having a harsh line of make up giving you a mask look.
The other to consider is your skin type. If you have oily skin, you don't want to buy a heavy liquid that contains oils. If you can find a liquid that is water-based, that will usually work. If you have very dry skin, powder foundations can settle onto the dry patches or into any lines you have and accentuate them. If you really want to wear powder foundation and do have dry skin, make sure to always use a good moisturizer before you apply your make up. Watch out for the foundations that are in the compact and are the liquid to powder ones. If your skin is oily, those are awful, at least for me they have been.
You may just have to find one that works for you by trial and error. What works for one person doesn't always work for another. If you buy from a drugstore, they will usually take a return or exchange even if you've opened it. Just ask first. Also try places that have make up out that you can actually try to avoid the whole process of buying and returning.
