Whats a good cheap eye shadow base? and Can concealer be a base and does it work?

I always sweep translucent power over my eyes and rest of my face to keep eye shadows and stuff in place also the same color eye color in pencil form helps too, I don't recommend concealer to be a baseWhats a good cheap eye shadow base? and Can concealer be a base and does it work?
Concealer works great as a base, it's cheap and it's just as good. Urban Decay makes a really great eyeshadow base, it's amazing.Whats a good cheap eye shadow base? and Can concealer be a base and does it work?
If u want to u may use your concealer lightly for base so that your make up can last a little longer. If u want cheaper prices, try the drug stores or Wal-Mart. They have several different reputable lines that will not break your bank account. Never should u sacrifice your face for just cheap products especially those u may not know of.
Use what use apply to your face, a powder or a foundation. It's all the same and you don't have to waste your money on a product these companies make for more money. Hope I helped!
i always either use concealer or translucent powder as eye shadow base i think it works the best
I recommend a product from Mary Kay called Eye Primer. It keeps eye shadow from smudging and creasing. You only use a small amount on your eyelids and it works all day. Ideally concealer should not be used on your eyelids it is thick and can make your eye color clump into the fine lines in your eyelid. That is not something we want to draw attention to.

concealerWhat works better for concealing dark circles concealer or foundation?
you want to buy a conceler that lighter then the skin becuase you want to brighten up those dark circles not hide. then use a foundation that right for the whole face. What works better for concealing dark circles concealer or foundation?
    concealer
I use a yellow stick concealer from Maybelline, followed by a normal color concealer or foundation (concealer on days when I don't want to wear foundation on my whole face). Yellow is a color that sort of cancels out the purple hues in the circles, but I find that if you just use the yellow like some people suggest it looks odd. That's why I layer two colors.
check this video out......she is using concealer here, so i don't know, hope this helps :)

Concealer, for sure!!! lol! I use amazing cosmetics concealer, at it works brilliant! I reccommend it to anyone! lol!

P.s- use a bit of highlighter under your eyes to deflect light away, it will make you look brighter, but dont use touche eclat, it gives u panda eyes lol.
concealer, it's more rich in colour so it covers it better and it usually contain SPF which protects against sun damage and it's specially formulated to protect such a sensitive area on your face. it's also important to use it on your eyelids so no eyeshadow pigments stain your skin which is actually possible.

Foundation is better for the entire face in order ot gain a smoother complexion and smoother skin.

if your going to use makeup use bareminerals.

    NO LIE...that stuff works wonders.

and if you do use concealer .. use moisturizer first then put it on. less is more... and when i DID use it .. i put it under my eyes to make them stand out... but other than that....

BAREMINERALS. =) %26lt;--#1 ADVICE.Make-up concealer?can anyone give me some advice on make-up concealer have you used it? is it good?
Foundation or concealer make up is easy to apply. It reflects light away from the skin and enhances its colour so that skin looks more radiant and even toned. Also can give soft focus appearance so that lines, dark shadows and blemishes are less visible. If you have a sensitive skin, look for products that are hypo-allergenic and fragrance free.Hope ive not given you information you cant use.So indulge and keep looking gorgeous.
I love concealer. I use it under my eyes to cover up the darkness and it makes my face look so bright.

All of my make up is from the Body shop because they don't test on animals.

My advice to you is to go to the body shop, tell them what you want and they will give you a free make over, showing you how to apply each product.

It's not the cheapest make up you can get but it's not expensive either.
I started using maybellene dream matte mousse I have never had to wear concealer since then! They also have a mousse concealer, I havent used it but I bet its good
I like Disappear by Estee Lauder. It really does make every blemish disappear. Less is more essential. It doesn't seem to make any difference to my spots they still take a couple of days to clear up.

For dark circles?Would you use Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse as a concealer?
no, it doesn't work as a concealer.. but its pretty good foundationWould you use Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse as a concealer?
Not for under the eyes, too drying. Try something more moisturizing like the prescriptives concealer in the stick.
they cover it slightly but i use a proper under eye concealer
i did that, and i didnt really work too well. so i would say no.
hey i have dark circles too and it cover mine fine:P

Cover girl matte mousse. It is light and soft.
Well if you want to conceal imperfections, really any company can help you with that; they have different shades for all skin types. I would reccomend ';dream matte'; most definatly. it blends in super well so you wont even notice that your wearing makeup.

If you look it make your pale skin look tanner; you need translucent powder for that. ';Bare minerals'; also blends very well into the skin. I would get a shade or two tanner than your skin and use a brush to apply it onto your face.
Illamasqua, MAC and Estee Lauder! Illamasqua does really pale shades
    MAC and bobbi brown
illamasqua has loads of pale shades of concealers and foundations.....the range actually goes from actual pure black to pure white..no joke :D

    A good natural concealer recommendation?

I have acne prone skin so I try to stay away from very heavy makeup that can clog my pores. I currently use Bare Minerals( which I love!) but it does not completely hide my red scars. I need something that will not cause more acne but yet hides my scars!

    Thanks!!A good natural concealer recommendation?
laura mercrierA good natural concealer recommendation?
I have the same situation. It's so annoying! I use Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer (not the oil-free one, it's weird and doesn't work as well) with Loreal Bare Naturale Gentle Mineral Concealer and Sephora Double Mineral Compact foundation. I always wash off all my makeup immediately after I get home, because otherwise the powder will clog your pores and make you break out more.
I am not trying to sell to you but if you want to give it a try. Mary Kay cosmetics sells the best concealer. When I do my skin classes the majority of the time, the women will choose that as their first item. Some of my customers just use that alone on their face.

I have acne scars too! I hate it, but you can't see them at all when you put this concealer on.

I can totally relate to you! By the way, stay away from powder - it builds up acne..

this is my fave because it is cheap and doesn't clog pores. it has a special formulae to help get rid of the blemishes it's hiding.

When applying concealer why is it best to use the ring finger?

It is best to use the ring finger because the skin under your eye is the most sensitive. Your ring finger will give the conealer a delicate touch rather than being hard and rough. If you want you can also use a brush. When applying concealer why is it best to use the ring finger?
i would recommend those concealers with the brush, or the concealer pencil. its way better than using your finger. When applying concealer why is it best to use the ring finger?
    use a small brush
Weakest finger. If you use the finger that is not the strongest, there's less of a possibility of rubbing off the concealer completely.
you're supposed to be gentle around the eye area and the ring finger is the weakest of all
It's easier to control the movement better. Also itstead of rubbing it on lightly patt it on.

Your ring finger is generally the widest, as your middle finger tends to tilt inward to one side or another, as your ring finger is straight. It will give you a gentle, soft tone.

However, I prefer using a small sponge or a brush.
I would use a soft eyeshadow brush. You don't want to pull the skin alot. Its very thin around the eyes.
You should use your ring finger because it is the weakest of your fingers and will apply less presure to the very delicate skin under your eye. Pressing too hard can cause winkles when you are older! you should also rub from the outside in to avoid crows feet!
Your ring finger is the finger that applies the least amount of pressure. The skin under the eye is the thinnest and should be patted not pulled or rubbed. Used to work for Clinique a while back and this was taught at seminars. Hope this helps.
    because you're black
The idea is so you don't apply too much or rub too hard.

Concealer is to be patted on--not rubbed on like foundation--the ring finger method automatically makes you to just pat because rubbing with that finger goes against the way you're finger wants to go

Treatment and concealer for under eye dark circles and bags that REALLY WORK?

Conflicting information abounds: ';Use tea bags with caffeine';; ';make sure tea bags DON'T have caffeine';; ';use products with Vitamin K';; ';Vitamin K won't have much effect, Vitamin E does the trick';, and on and on it goes.

I'm 46 years old, and remember pictures from elementary school days where I had dark circles, so I guess that's mostly hereditary. (Although my sleep habits are atrocious, so I know this doesn't help either) The bags are a new addition over recent years.

I first became aware of those while standing in a Steinmart. I caught a glimpse of myself in one of their mirrors and couldn't believe what I was seeing. I've tried a number of products every since then, as well as various types of concealer....I'm not seeing any real improvement though.

I prefer skin care products and cosmetics that are all-natural, with no animal testing, but I realize it may take something more heavy-duty to get the results I'm after. Thanks!Treatment and concealer for under eye dark circles and bags that REALLY WORK?
There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:

Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water %26amp; stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath %26amp; let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K %26amp; Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

well...to make it go away entirely, you can just use mederma or other scar removal creams. it worked for me! u can get them at walgreens or cvs.
yes u can, mineral make up is fantastic for scares and pigmentation. its a powder form and as a make up artist i use it alot. hope this helped
I use Coverderm. It seems to cover quite well.
i could probably help you better if i knew what color tint it was and what your skin color is, but the best way to hide the scar is after applying sunscreen to your face (VERY important with scars) you should apply a cream concealer. i do not recommend powders!!

its all about color, if your scar is red use a coolish color; if its dark or olive use a salmon pink (assuming your skin color is white). try to use complementary colors :)

Use that if you have oily skin. Tinted Moisturizer can be used as foundation. If you feel you need more coverage, you can also use powder or liquid foundation too. I personally like liquid foundations better because they are easier to blend. Don't worry about feeling cakey, her products are lightweight.

I use the Secret Camouflage because it has 2 shades. Secret Concealer was made specifically for sensitive areas around the eyes. Use this if you have dark circles or discoloration around the eye.

Let me briefly describe to you the other products in her line.

Step 1 is to prep the skin with foundation primer. Foundation primer will keep your foundation on all day so you don't need to keep re-applying throughout the day. She has 3 different primers. If you have oily skin, use the oil free primer. For normal, dry, or aging skin, use the hydrating primer. For combination skin, use the (normal) foundation primer (it is just called Foundation Primer). There is also a powder formula too, it's called Mineral Powder.

Step 2 is foundation and step 3 is concealer. I gave you information about that already.

Step 4 is setting powder. I don't use setting powder because I use foundation primer. You can use either. She has 3 types of setting powders. Loose Setting Powder, Mineral Finishing Powder, and Pressed Powder.

Step 5 isn't really a ';step.'; It's just if you need extra help. I don't use any of these products either. Here is a brief description of the products.

Undercover Pot - This innovative, travel-friendly pot combines Secret Camouflage, Secret Concealer, and Translucent Loose Setting Powder into one convenient package for quick touch-ups anywhere.

Secret Brightener - Try this highlighter under Secret Concealer, or by itself, to highlight and brighten dark areas on the face or under the eyes.

Secret Brightening Powder - This lighter-than-air powder offers an instant lightening boost when used to set Secret Brightener, Secret Camouflage, and Secret Concealer.

Secret Finish - Use this ultralight lotion to magically restore radiance and refresh your makeup.

You can read more about her products at the first link I gave you.

Bare Escentuals is also really good too, from what I've heard. I have never tried it though. Here's a link:

    hi,

for the concealer you need to be careful what sort of coverage you're looking at.

basically the eye area is a very dlicate part of the skin , so where youhave dark circle it's a sign of the lymphatique drainage not runnning properly to eliminate the toxines of your blood. that is what creates the dark circles and puffy eyes. Now because of this , you need to use an eye cream that will help your toxins to be out and to be drained properly. This will link what sort of concealer you will need . Now as a make up artist myself , (and I have worked for mac in the past etc...)I wouldn't advise u to use mac even if the others girls say that they are the best because if your eye area is not properly moisturized you will then see the thin lines and the dehydration of your skin IF you choose a full coverage concealer. and mac product are quiet drying... Because I don't know how your skin is , I won't go for a compact full coverage concealer but for something that will help your eye area at the same time.

Now of course there is several choices in the market but here are my best ones: Chantecaille concealer (in the pot), creamy , moisturizing and good coverage (spacenk.com)

By Terry Touch expert (contain vitamin E and anti dullness ingredients for the dark circle) 拢28 (spacenk.com)

Laura mercier secret concealer (the small one with the cream)

and the last one , go for Chanel , which is nice as well

u can go of the maybelline one but bare in mind that there is no ingredients that will help at the same time , it will just conceal them. (this one wouldn't be the one I would advise you to go for)

also , If you want a straight away disappearance of the dark circle use a tiny bit of orange lipstick(MAC morange) just in the corner of your eye and blend the concealer on the top with a brush

I hope I helped you , good luck hun!

What is the best MAC concealer for blemishes?

Which do you like best? What is the best MAC concealer?
I know this one! MAC Select Cover-up is the best because it looks very natural and smooth---very nice texture, and it covers VERY well too. I have some other much more expensive concealers but I always go back to that one because it covers up everything flawlessly!

Here's the link: http://www.maccosmetics.com/product/spp.鈥?/a>What is the best MAC concealer?
of course mac studio finish concealer! it gives you full coverage, and its suppose to be used to cover up blemishes, tattoos, scars almost anything. its a great concealer, i use it to cover my blemishes.

Cheap pink and yellow toned concealer?

I have gray under eye circles and lots of times the color I use looks ashey. I heard you need to put pink, then yellow concealer on, so where can you find some thats cheap (at a drugstore)? Also, does anyone else have these little..englarged pores under their eyes on the dark circes?Cheap pink and yellow toned concealer?
I don't have enlarged pores under the eyes, but i have those fine lines below it %26amp; of course its dark. I think it's better if you use products that have silicone on them so to cover %26amp; fill in those gaps.

L'oreal have the AirWear Long-Wearing Concealer is a good concealer under $10.

    According to:

    http://www.celebrity-beauty-tip-goldmine…

    The Airwear is:

    ';A celebrity skin worthy Best Concealer in the drug store for under ten bucks? No it’s true! This Best Conealer contains silicone, which is one of the trendiest ingredients in the world of makeup these days. It provides an easy glide that allows you to layer the makeup just perfectly without looking noticeably “done”. This concealer is easy to blend and will give you a matte effect. This is an ideal concealer for someone with a lot to hide as it is easy to layer. It also provides a broader-than-usual spectrum of six good colors with very good options for those with pale skin. The color called Corrector is too yellow on its own. In the concealer world, yellow concealer is meant to counter skin undertones in the violet family, such as the shadows under your eyes. But you must cover it up with your foundation. The same goes if you use Brightener which is too pink on its own. Pink concealer is used to brighten a sallow complexion, which some people get after they’ve been sick or tired for a while. Cover these with your normal foundation shade.';

As for experience,i find that liquid concealer actually covers those dark spots better. it really provides equal coverage %26amp; since its in fluid form, its easy to blend. I hate it when i have streaks of concealer on spots that doesn't need much concealing on.

    hope this helps!

^_^Cheap pink and yellow toned concealer?
You don't need to use pink and then yellow.

Just by a liquid concealer that is lighter than your natural skin tone and apply to the desired area, and blend thoroughly.

Any tips for a good concealer, dont want to pay to much, mainly to cover thread veins?

need one that lasts all day ,anybody thanksAny tips for a good concealer, dont want to pay to much, mainly to cover thread veins?
Always avoid green concealers for sale , they claim to reduce redness and noticeable veins , they are impossible to use without giving the skin a grey cast (which looks awful, believe me).

Also a foundation with yellow undertones will cancel out veins and redness.

Aswel well as Using a thin tipped concealer brush for precision, apply maximum coverage concealer (matching the colour of your skin) over these, and then blend the edges of the concealer in gently with a finger, so that it isn't visible. Then gently pat loose powder over the top to fix the concealer in place. Now gently brush away the excess loose powder with a powder brush.

If you are prone to thread veins avoid extremes of temperature and excessive alcohol consumption, and don't use facial scrubs too hard.

Do i put green concealer before or after foundation?

i had redness in both of my cheeks. i use green concealer. but im not sure the best way to apply it. when i apply foundation over the green concealer it look like it wipe away the concealer. so do i put the foundation after??Do i put green concealer before or after foundation?
Your suppose to wear it under the foundation, in order to counteract the redness and blend it away with foundation. Give the concealer a few seconds/minutes to set, then apply your foundation with a foundation brush. A sponge or a finger are convenient but are a bit harsh and absorb a lot of the foundation leaving an uneven look. This could also be the reason why your green concealer is being wiped away.Do i put green concealer before or after foundation?
I have used this before. Yes, you put the green concealer on first, then your foundation on next because this helps cover the green.
You put the green cocealer on first then your foundation and then your powder.
But it on before the foundation.
no i say to do it before

The very best product out there is Sheercover. It can cover anything and gives you a flawless look. It really does work. You can find it at sheercover.com and let me tell you it is worth every penny. It has an unconditional money back guarantee even it you use all the product you still get your money back no questions asked. Trust me you will love it.
You can't really cover them. You can try a foundation (Cover Girl is the best if your looking for something cheap) or the mineral ones they make are good also. When you apply the make up make sure you don't rub it on upwards do it downwards if you get what I mean. Scars like that just heal on their own don't pick at them it makes it worse. Clean your face and such maybe buy a special lotion to keep it from getting worse. Hope this helps!

you shouldnt wear make up.... I HAVE VERY BAD ACNE!!!!! and people tell me i lokk really pretty because i dont put pounds of make up on i just use something light called the N.Y.C ';the color wheel '; you can find it at WalMart!!!! i bet you really dont need it ,and you r a pretty girl!!!!!!!!!!!
Sum 1 already said this one, but i will go ahead and second that, i have acne, and acne scars and have tried SEVERAL differant combos, ect.. what i found that works best is physicans formula (its green )on one side n nuetral on the other, the first thing u do is apply the green especially on any red spots pat it in let dry (or i use cool setting on blow-dryer) then apply the nuetral over the green, again let dry, (OR BLOW_DRY_HAHA)then i pat on a lil powder over it, then foundation, powder again. it covers really good for me and lasts throughout the day w/ powder re-applied. hope it works for ya!!!
Physicians formula came out with this concealer:

Half of the bottle is green colored (the opposite of red is grean, so it nuetralizes the redness)

And the other half is skin tone... to blend it in!
the best scar covering makeup is dermablend--some department stores carry it--it's heavy duty
covering your face too much will bother it but u should try covergirl and get a shade that matches ur skin the best

You seem to have drier skin, in which case, you need a moisturizing foundation and loose powder. Look for a foundation which is marketed for mature skin, regardless of your age. It should contain vitamin E if at all possible. Use that, dust loose, translucent powder on your T-zone, and you should be set to go. You do not need concealer under your eyes, as it will only make dark circles more pronounced. Take a multi-vitamin-- that should help your dark circles.

What's the best concealer I can buy at Sephora or MAC?

At MAC I am NW15... so I need something that light. I'd like something I can use on blemishes and undereye circles. I usually don't like liquid much, but I can adapt. It doesn't have to be MAC, I'm just stating my color so people can get a general idea of what I can't wear (most shades are too dark. I've tried most Clinique and Stila in the store... much too dark). What's the best concealer I can buy at Sephora or MAC?

What do you think of MAC's foundation and concealer?

i want to purchase these products but i want people opinions on them.

What Do You Think Of The Other Products As Well? What do you think of MAC's foundation and concealer?
I think MAC foundations and concealers are great especially if you have Acne or any other skin blemishes. But if you have acne depending on your skin type for myself which I am Oily I use Mac Studio Tech Foundation which is a great cover my my slight acne blemishes as far as concealers they have many different varieties that work well to hide blemishes...So if your looking for a good product MAC is the best to me personally. What do you think of MAC's foundation and concealer?
I can't even begin to tell you about MAC's products. In short, they're foundation and concealer have good, no great coverage and they stay put. They're eyeshadows are highly pigmented and you are given a wide array to choose from so you can let your imagination run wild. I'm getting out of control, need I say more?

The bottom line is that MAC is a highly trusted brand with high quality product so I highly recommend MAC Cosmetics.
I think MAC makeup is great I use the liquid foundation and its great cover up I also love that they have different kinds of foundation depending on how much coverage you want. I also used to use the pressed powder foundation but I switched to liquid.
Mac products are great. I use their Studio Fix liquid foundation. Studio fix powder, Studio fix concealer in the little round pot, eyeshadows, lipsticks, blushers and Power point eyeliner.

I am a make up junkie and I've tried every brand of make up in the UK but for quality, consistency, variety and price, MAC is the best.

The only thing of theirs that I'm not crazy about is their lip glosses (apart from their Clear Lipglass which is perfect!). I don't think that they give value for money and you can easily get great lipgloss elsewhere cheaper e.g. Bodyshop and Revlon do good ones.

Mac's versions of the make up below are good too but a bit overpriced because some high street brands are just as good:

-Black Liquid eyeliner from Rimmel or bourjois is just as good but cheaper

    - Black Mascara, you're better off with Loreal Lash architect or Telescopic

If you want coloured versions of those then, stick to MAC.

Every other product of theirs is great!!!!

Their foundation and concealer have a lot of shades and different formulas to give you different effects.

But the best things about them is that they last long (so they're cheaper it in the long run) and make my skin look flawless and natural!

Be sure to ask the Mac artists questions to help you decide which formulas will work best for your skin. Go for it!

PS. I'm not a really rich person but I'd prefer to pay more for MAC anyday than other high street brands.
i dont really wear a ton of heavy face makeup and i love my MAC foundation AND concealer.I just use the mineral foundation and it gives a good finished look without looking too cakey or looking too thick

and i use the select-cover up concealer and i LOVE it as well it actually does a pretty great job of covering up the bags under my eyes.

    hope this helps

Is cream concealer better then the stick concealer for hiding dark circles under the eyes?

definatly. the best concealer is the natural collection! its amazing and its not too pricey either

hope this helped =]Is cream concealer better then the stick concealer for hiding dark circles under the eyes?
Yes the cream (wand) concealers are the best for under eye circles. The ones containing light reflecting particles are the best as they reflect light which completly covers up the darkness on your face. I use Touch eclat (yves saint laurent) which is about 拢22 so it is very pricey but very worth it. If this really is too much (i was very reluctant to pay out lol) youb should get the bourgois one which is very good. I got that one too. You should never use stick concealers unders the eyes as you drag on the skin too much when you rub it in. This causes wrinkles which you really dont want. They are good for spots though. Hope i have helped you. xxxxxxxxxxxxIs cream concealer better then the stick concealer for hiding dark circles under the eyes?
do not use stick concealers under your eyes as these will stick into all the minor wrinkless and creases around the delicate eye area, deepening wrinkles and speeding up the aging process.

my advice would be to use a creamier concealer with slight yellow undertones as this balance out the bluey black pigments of under eye circles.

i use a great one from a pallette by NYC, if you want a budget option

    hope this helps

    Daisy
Absolutely. Stick concealer doesn't seem to cover very well, so when I use it, I have to reapply at least 3 times, and those dark circles just shine right on through! Liquid concealer provides better coverage.
Yes. the stick concealers can drag the delicate skin under your eyes, and cause more problems than they hide. Getting enough sleep and drinking plenty of water will help avoid dark circles in the first place. [Sorry if I sound like your mum ;0)]
I think so, because the consistency is easier to blend and doesn't feel as sticky :)
yes, ... so that you can control exactly where you want it better.

Have you ever used ';L'oreal Paris True Match concealer'; to cover up dark circles? if you have, how did it work?

I know this isn't tremendously helpful, but I used it several years ago, and I'd say the coverage was pretty good, especially if you choose the warm undertone. The yellowish-tints of the warm tones will balance out the blue tone of your dark circles.

  • Wot is the best way to put on a concealer?

i just got the YSL touche eclat as a present.. but dont know wot is the best way to apply it. would the benefit bo-ing be any better to cover dark circles and spots btw? thanksWot is the best way to put on a concealer?
With your fingers (as long as they are clean mind!)as the heat works a treat and makes it less blotchy and easier to work with, failing that a good clean lip brush, and remember less is more with concealer the less you use the better is covers mad I know!

Also apply concealer after your foundation as it has a base to cling to, the use a light dusting of powder to set it, and voila! Flawless skin baby!Wot is the best way to put on a concealer?
i find it best to use my fourth finger to dab on concealer cos its the weakest and therefore won't cause ur skin to go red
i put it on using a pencil i put it on my finger and then dab it onto my spots or marks i find thats the best way hope it helps xxx
on spots you just dab it on and smear it through. if your applying it to cover dark circles you just apply it from the outer corner of your eye to the inner corner and then smear in with your fingers. always remember to get a concealer a shade lighter than your foundation and actual skin colour. xxx hop i helped xxx
The best way to apply concealer is using a brush... because fingers take away too mmuch of the concealer you are trying to put ONTO your skin. but I do use my finger to even out and blend. This works for YSL touche and Benefit Boiing, as I use them both every day :)

Boiing is excellent for dark circles, I know because I have panda eyes.
Dab a small amount onto the area and then blend with a concealer brush (or a lip brush if you do not have a concealer brush)
I heard the best way is to put it on your finger and tap it on because it takes down puffiness.
Warm up the concealer on the back of your hand first, it makes it less cakey. Then dab dab under your eyes or any other blemishes. Make sure you don't rub it in, because the skin around your eyes is very delicate. First blend around the spot or dark circles and then go inward. Set it with some loose powder. And you're good to go.
the touch eclat is more money then its worth, i find it too liquidy and pink-toned. benefit is heavier and gives more coverage, is slighty cheaper and last for ages
I heard the best way is to put it on your finger and tap it on because it takes down puffiness.
I use L'Oreal True match, and it's easy. I just brush it on the spot and rub in a circular motion until it's blended.

About how much is the revlon colorstay blemish concealer?

about how much is it? i went to the webpage and it doesnt tell prices.

also what color would i be since my foundation is 200 nude in revlon colorstay foundation. i dont want tit to be darker or lightter just exact.

oh one more thing, does it work since it has a bit of salicilic acid?

thnx xoxoAbout how much is the revlon colorstay blemish concealer?
The concealer sells for about 3 dollars while the foundation is around 5-6. You should buy them at a place like Walgreens because I know the one in my city offers a ';buy on get one half off'; deal; however, the salicylic acid percentage is only 0.5 and really has no effect on your blemishes.

What do the concealer colors (like yellow and green) mean / do?

Well a yellow concealer stick is used to conceal bluish bruises, under-eye circles and mild red tones on the face, and a green concealer stick is used to neutralize red tones on the skin. Use this for covering blemishes, zits, red blotches, rosacea, port-wine stains.

    Hope this helps, sweetie! (=

What do the concealer colors (like yellow and green) mean / do?
    Ah, color theory...

Green is the complimentary color of Red, meaning it is the best color to dull the red on your face.

Yellow is the complimentary color of Purple. The color underneath your eyes that is unattractive.

When you mix complimentary colors together you get brown, or a neutral.

So these colors get rid of those icky colors you don't want showing through your make-up.What do the concealer colors (like yellow and green) mean / do?
The different colors of concealers are to tone down unwanted skin tones such as ruddiness, under eye circles, a shallow complexion. A dept store cosmetic sales person should be able to tell you what the different colors are used for and how to apply it. Usually blended onto the skin and covered over with a foundation.
Yellow works for darker skin than you usually have, like undereye circles work well for that. Green is for spots that are redder -- bad sunburns, uneven splotches, zits, etc. The different colors are higher technology of makeup than the old days of just skin-toned concealer.
red and green are contrast colors, as well as purple and yellow.

when you apply a small amount of green concelant to a red spot like a pimple it makes it look less red! as well as yellow with purple-ish marks, such as bruises or infected pimples... i use the green alot for my facial eczema as well as other blemishes! works like a champ!
green concealers are for blemishes. they're supposed to cancel out the red

and the yellow ones are for your eyes. i think they're supposed to hide the blue from the veins.
green covers up all the red and puffy noticable blemishes while the yellow covers the purple under your eyes from lack of sleep

It is best to avoid make-up entirely if you have active acne. However, if you are going to use make up check into Bare Esscentuals and Philosophy, both available from QVC in the US and the UK. No matter which make-up you choose to wear, always keep your complexion clean, clean, clean and use a very light touch applying cosmetics. How to apply laura mercier secret camouflage? (concealer)?

I have it.. what do I do?

    what kind of brushes?

etcHow to apply laura mercier secret camouflage? (concealer)?
I would find a soft concealer brush. Most good foundation and concealer brushes are synthetic, since you need something that won't absorb the product but can evenly blend it out. The top makeup artists even say your ring fingers are your best tools for makeup. This is an opaque and high coverage undereye concealer, so I would just tap my ring finger into it and dab it on. The inside of the eyes where the nose begins and eyes end, has a shadow that most people don't know about. Putting a little on both sides of there can help wonders too! Just use as little as you need and it should last awhile. You may have to blend the shades till you find your perfect one. I use a lighter concealer there to brighten the undereyes.

    Powder concealer for undereye circles?

I have normal skin. Will it work for me? What are the pros/cons/benefits of liquid and powder concealer? Thanks!Powder concealer for undereye circles?
It'll definitely work! Remember, though, the brush you apply it with is just as important then the concealer-find a makeup booth and ask what type of brush will put the powder on thick.Powder concealer for undereye circles?
i think a stick concealer will be the best! it covers all flaws and doesnt cause any problems to skin, easily applied, easily removed! maxfactor's r da best!

pls answer my question :) thanks x

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
I have normal skin too. and for me, liquid concealer is a pain. Powder works really well for me (i use foundation as concealer). It stays on all day and covers the problem areas well.
I think it should. The powder concealer wouldn't cake as much as liquid would. Another trick that also works is dabbing a little bit of orange lipstick. I know, weird! But the orange cancels out the black-bluish tint. Then put make up over that like you normally would.
I'm sure it will work. :]

Powder is better for your skin because it doesn't clog up your pores and it looks more natural when applied correctly. Just make sure if you have more acne-prone skin you get ';Talc-Free'; foundation/concealer.
a stick concealer would help better
I have found that all these products claim to fix this problem area and never once in my life have I found ANY of them to work!

They have the advantage on tv and magazine ads to use VERY heavy makeup as well as airbrushing to make it look like the product works.

Bare minerals has a product called Bisque and I have found it is the only product that comes close to helping.

It is a powder, but made of minerals only so it does not cake or clog, and looks natural.

You can also get it on qvc.com
i use a wet concealer... not liquid... more like paste (?) Not sure how to describe it, but it's a really thick liquid i guess. I think that powders look to cakey. Mine blends in with my skin perfectly.
im srry but i have to disagree with sophia, every morning i put mac's mineral powder on and the bags usually disapear but it makes the side of my nose sometimes orange and sometimes it looks VERY caked on. another con is that with powder it fades away... my favorite product that i use to hide bags is beneFits some-kind-a gorgeous liquid foundation because it seems a lot lighter to me and works wonders! it may even be my favorite product of all time!

    hope this helps!

Ugh, I've been trying to cover up those eye bags. My story:

I feel so much prettier without those ugly dark circles under my eyes, so I bought ';ooh la la lift'; from Sephora, and it does an okay job and I was satisfied for a while. Then I got the Lorel bare naturale under eye mineral concealer and it was also just alright. THEN, I got Stila perfecting concealer for sephora and -omg! It worked great. For about a month. Then I started to notice wrinkles and extremely dry skin under my eye-particularly my right one. Im pretty sure it was from the stila concealer because it's not as liquidy or smooth or gentle as concealer should be. I'd recommend investing a well praised product that GETS RID of the dark circles, not covers them up.

    Hope I helped. Sorry :(

Best concealer for dark under eye circles?

Does anyone know of any good concealers to cover up really DARK under eye circles? Thanks in advance. ^^Best concealer for dark under eye circles?
Clinique Advance Concealer. It has a matte finish, it's not oily so it won't smudge. I works for me and I have very dark eye circles.Best concealer for dark under eye circles?
I think it is called Hylexin? well yea, that stuff isnt a concealer but it takes them away.
    hylexin
i really like perscriptives concealer. its a bit pricey but well worth the money. you can find it at a nice dept. store like macy's. there is a perscriptives counter. it seems to work very well and i love it for covering blemishes also!!
I've always had problems with covering my dark circles and this is what worked for me. Well I personally I use Revlon Colorstay concealer made especially for dark circles. It's available any where. And its about $8.85. When applying it make sure you don't use too much because it will end up looking cake like, believe me i've done it before and I've learned to not use it too much.

If your interested of minimizing the appearance of your dark circles I recommend using a product by benefit called Eyecon. Its a bit pricey at $28 dollars a small container, but if you use small amounts it will last a while. It's sold at department stores such as Macy's or Dillards. It can be used day or night and used underneath your concealer. Although some people say that your can make dark circles disappear, I've heard from physicians that in reality you can't. You can only minimize the appearance.

Hope this helped. Good Luck! It works for me and it may work for you.
When you find out, please let me know.
depends upon your skin tone. Go to a department store - macy's, neimans, Parisians, Rich's, etc. and go to a make up counter that you feel fits your image/taste and LOOK at the make up artists makeup FIRST and if it fits your taste then speak to that person and they can help you. I am partial to MAC, Lancome, Bobbi Brown and Fashion Fair (the latter is marketed to people of colour). Good Luck!!!
    YSL or salmon concealer..

Just make sure it is tinted yellow. Yellow and red are opposite on the color wheel so they work well in covering eachother, just as green is the best to cover up a RED pimple. Obviously though you would want to blend really well though so you dont have a huge green dot on your face or huge YELLOW circles under your eyes.

As to which company is the best i would go with Covergirl under eye reducer cover up with some concealer that matches your skin color over it.

Is concealer brings good effect on skin?

what other product can i use to remove the dark spots/pimple scars on my face? that can be bought here in philippines..Is concealer brings good effect on skin?
that sentance doesent make any sense. if your asking whether concealer is good for your skin, no its not. if you apply it correctly and remove it every night then it shouldnt do any harm to your skin. hope this helps : )

Do you have to put on concealer before you put on eyeshadow?

im a beginner at makeup and stuff and i usually just wash my face and put on the eyeshadow w|o concealer. . . do i have to put on concealer before i apply the eyeshadow?Do you have to put on concealer before you put on eyeshadow?
Well if you want to cover up any dark undereye circles and you should put it on the lids to make them a little brighter. Also it will make the eyeshadow stick so it doesnt come off.Do you have to put on concealer before you put on eyeshadow?
Well, many people who wear make up do use concealer but seen as your a beginner it shouldn't really matter. Sometimes I don't use concealer so no. You don't have to. It's a choice.
you could like the others said, but I don't. I just put on the eyeshadow and no concealer and it just stays there for me usually. I just have to remember to not itch my eyes. haha
I usually do. It gives a base foundation. Plus you don't want to mess up your eyeshadow. So try the foundation first. Good Luck.
I don't use concealer but I use an eyeshadow base. It makes a big difference. My eyeshadow stays in place all day. I use Urban Decay Primer Potion (Sephora).

I need help on a good concealer i got clinique n i got very bad dark circles??

I had the same problem as you with it creasing up. What I do now tho is moisturize, give it a few mins to absorb properly THEN apply the concealer in lil dots round my eyes %26amp; blend in, then apply foundation, then powder to set it :)

  • What age did you start wearing concealer?

If you dont have acne, or really uneven color in your face, then never wear it. Even if you have a few blemishes just cover them up individually.

But if you're going to I'd say about 14-16.What age did you start wearing concealer?

14! and omg that's young!! I didn't wear it after that I had a few spots on picture day... that's like the only time I used it. I'm 17 now. Foundation, concealer, blush.. is just another way of getting spots.. I mean, it doesn't work for me! x
Never- on a regular basis. No need to unless you get dark circles. Just get some sleep. We always called it ';old ladies'; make-up.

If I can't put concealer all over my face, what do I do?

Parts of my cheeks and forehead are covered in freckle-like spots. I don't know what they are. My nose is covered in what appears to be pimples that won't go away. Also, I have dark circles under eyes. Therefore, I have to apply concealer to these areas, but I heard it is bad to apply concealer all over your face. What do I do?If I can't put concealer all over my face, what do I do?
use concealer, just make sure and wash it off when you get home.

if you leave it on, your skin will just get oily.

    so make sure and washhhhh.

or get an oil-free concealer that actually WORKS.

so many of them dont really work too well.If I can't put concealer all over my face, what do I do?
I don't think applying concealer all over your face is bad, concealer are for concealing imperfections, I use concealer under my eyes, on pimples, scars, and discoloration areas, and areas where I think need to be concealed. After concealer I apply foundation, and whatever is still needed to be concealed I reapply concealer.
It's not bad to use it all over your face... but if you have so many things that need to be concealed, then use foundation, or use foundation first, and then put concealer on top, or vice versa, but it's better to put on foundation first and then concealer - you use less product.

Does anyone know of a concealer that will cover a scar above my lip and also one that covers scar on the lip?

The scar above my lip is bright red and the one on my lip is lighter colored than my lip. Also, does anything really help a scar heal?Does anyone know of a concealer that will cover a scar above my lip and also one that covers scar on the lip?
Mary Kay has good concealers. they also have vitamin e to help your skin as well as the scarred area.Does anyone know of a concealer that will cover a scar above my lip and also one that covers scar on the lip?
If your going to go out i think you should buy the pure.makeup concealer from maybelline and when you stay at home apply vitamin e and it will slowly start going away
Vitamin E helps and so does the mederma that you can find in most drug stores. As for a concelear, if you can find a green stick that looks like a concealer it will help hide most of the redness. Then after that just add your base over that. The green will help cover the redness so it won't look like you have any scar at all.
try using bio-oil for fading the scar!

  • Whats the best foundation/ concealer for covering up spots?!?

I know you shouldnt really wear foundation or anything on spots but if im going out somewhere at night what is the best coverage for them?!

I need to be able to purchace in th UK and my spots are mainly on my forehead and the side of my mouth.

I dnt have alot just some tht i hate! :PWhats the best foundation/ concealer for covering up spots?!?
I like loreal the best. the thing to remember is to use the concealer only on the spots that need it and not all over the face. then smoothen on the foundation in normal amounts. Dont be tempted to use excess foundation all over the face. instead take a small brush and cover the spots. Also what helps would be to apply a glow or a shine to the brow and the top of the cheekbone just under the eyes. the glow catches the light and takes attention away from the rest of the face. Also suggest you go for heavy eye makeup and leave the face simple.Whats the best foundation/ concealer for covering up spots?!?
Victoria's Secret coverup stays on a long time. You have to be sure to rub it in good, or you'll have orange spots on your face. Other than that though, it's the best :)

What foundation and/or concealer is best for blemishes and covering pimples.?

covergirl trublend is really oily on my skin and causes me pimples, and i dont want to use bare minerals or any mineral powder, i'm looking for a liquid or mousse foundation that wont make me break out.

thanks! What foundation and/or concealer is best for blemishes and covering pimples.?
I actually really like the covergirl concealer sticks. They cover really well. As far as foundations, L'Oreal tru match is the absolute best stuff ever, it blends pretty well and doesn't feel too cakey, I have pretty clear skin when I used it. (I switched to mineral or else i'd still be using it).

There are some concealers and foundations with acne medication in them, but I've found that they don't cover as well, and often dry my skin on the parts of my face that aren't really oily. To prevent zits, I'd just recommend putting pimple cream on any zits or problem areas before doing your makeup. What foundation and/or concealer is best for blemishes and covering pimples.?
visit MAc store once and u will get ur answer.
Try a light tinted moisturiser which is lighter and better for the skin. also go to your local drugstore and ask them to help you chose the right makeup. also try cleansing your skin twice a day with a special cleanser made for your skin which should help stop breakouts. Hope this helped
My girlfriend uses a compact concealer that makes her look natural and flawless so I started using it as well (http://nsutherland.qhealthbeauty.com/products/product.aspx?itemno=105536)

I'm not sure of your skin tone but you can browse that website to see what suits you best. All their products are fantastic... also try the balancing skin care system that they have if you have oily or combination skin http://nsutherland.qhealthbeauty.com/products/product.aspx?itemno=105487
do not put foundation on pimples it makes them worse causing them to enlarge and they look worse. i suggest u try pro active that will stop you from getting pimples also i think they might have a foundation out not to sure but i found that rimmel makes the best foundation it depends on your skin type if you go into the cosmetic counter at myer they can tell you which is best for your skin type
you should try bare minerals multi task-bisque and well rested eyes. I have natural dark circles under my eyes and it's the only concealer that actually covers and doesn't break me out and last all day long. I also use the bare minerals foundation and mineral veil which is almost like a loose face powder it seals the make up on your face. I swear by bare minerals products and so do alot of other women I know. You should try them. I have been using them for almost 2 yrs and haven't had any break outs on my face.
When covering blemishes, you shouldn't use your usual concealer. Blemishes have a red color to them, and in order to cover them, you should put something on it that has a green tint (this will counteract the redness). Then you can put your foundation as usual.

I'll put a link to a low cost, high quality concealer pallet so that you have a variety of colors to conceal different problems.

    I hope this helps.
the BEST ever foundation is one by benefit and it matches absolutely EVERY skin tone. seriously

    try it out.

    its miraculous
how about bare minerals for a quick expensive really good fix!

    good luck
try mac. i love the studio tech, its like cream based then after applying it becomes more of a powder. be sure to blend well.

as far as the break outs go, be sure to wash your face right before applying makeup, and be sure to wash thoroughly before going to bed (i use clean and clear in the shower and at night). i use oxy pads (maximum strength) in the morning, and i rarely get a single pimple. just wash your face regularly and it should be fine.

    What is the best concealer/foundation?

    I've NEVER used it before.

    How do I use it?

i would suggest a neutrogena concealer. it's maybe a dollar or 2 more but a better quality i think.

    Go to www.beautypedia.com and type in the promo code ';cityline';

it's a good site by this lady and she is very very knowledgeable on products and ingredients. you can review pretty much every product on there. it's really awesome i have her book
I use Kryolan concealer. They stay on quite well, it comes with 5 colours. I find the greenish colour perfect for covering reddish colour. The orangie concealer covers dark eye circle quite well. We were recommended to use this product in makeup class
I love Loreal's true match powder concealer :)

How much would Neutrogena concealer cost?

    neutrogena concealer sucks.

i think it costs 7 or 8 dollars though.

but you are better off with the covergirl concealer if you want drugstore concealer. it does a better job. i think it costs 5 or 6 dollars. How much would Neutrogena concealer cost?
why don't you try and find out on the website if they have one not sure xHow much would Neutrogena concealer cost?
probably between 6 or 8 dollars

When choosing a foundation, should it be lighter or darker or the same colour as the concealer?

    General Rule:

    - Concealer 1 shade lighter than your skin

    - Foundation same shade as your skin.

Always test the colours in natural light ie sunlight. When choosing a foundation, should it be lighter or darker or the same colour as the concealer?
The concealer should definitely be lighter than your foundation! A great website to check out makeup is www://www.lthompson25.qhealthbeauty.com you can type ';makeup'; in the search box. They have great products and everything has a 180 day guarantee!!! So you can return it within 180 days if you dont like it, but you will! :)When choosing a foundation, should it be lighter or darker or the same colour as the concealer?
You shouldn't choose your foundation around your concealer. Your foundation should be the same color as your skin and look like you don't have anything on. The concealer should be a little lighter than your foundation.
Don't pick your foundation color around your concealer, but your actual skin. It should match your skin. Concealer is lighter than your skin color so it will brighten up dark circles.

i've got dark circles but never used concealer n now i'm planning to buy one but i'd like to know if i can use it everyday or only at times i'm wearing foundation n other make up? How do i know which one's best for me? and does it harm d skin if i use it everyday? plz helpCan i use concealer for dark circles even though if i don't wear any make up?
hello, you certainly can use a concealer under your eyes even if you're wearing no other make up. It's not harmful to use it everyday, just make sure you remove it properly before you go to bed.

the best concealer for dark circles (in my opinion) is a light reflecting one. The best one I've found is YSL touch eclat. It is quite expensive and other brands do cheaper alternatives (like boujouis). Light reflecting concealers are great as they contain light diffusing particles to disguise imperfections and help to minimize the look of dark circles.

hope this helped xCan i use concealer for dark circles even though if i don't wear any make up?
You should find out what is causing your dark circles first- be it lack of sleep etc. You need to change whatever is causing them if you can. Before you try a concealer, try chilling a tablespoon in the freezer and holding over each eye for 30 seconds. It will perk them up and feel great. If you MUST use a conceal or, it does look more natural under foundation but if you dot the concealer around the dark circles and blend dots together with a little oil of olay (or other light moisturizer) you can pull it off. I highly reccommend a makeup mirror with lighting for this though. Physicians formula (available at most drug stores/walmart etc.) has great concealers for dark circles and pimples. You can use them everyday without damage to your skin but you MUST wash all makeup off before going to bed and moisturize! Hope this helps.
yeah u can use concealer under around ur eyes even if ur not wearing make up..use one that blends into the skin but not a cream based one as they go into the creases of the skin and accumulate there and make u look older...always check the concealer in sunlight...a good concealer will look natural even in the natural light....foundations usually give the skin an artificial look but if u still wanna use it make sure that u put on the concealer first and then the foundation... after that use a blush on brush to put on the compact dont use a powder puff..it doesnt spread the compact well..it wont harm ur skin jus as long as u dont forget to take it off after u come home
How to Get Rid of Black Circles Under Your Eyes

Puffiness or skin discoloration under the eyes affects just about everybody at some time or another. For some of us, however, these “bags” or “dark circles” are a near-constant bother. While these conditions are occasionally symptomatic of other illnesses, the usual cause is allergies, tiredness, or, unfortunately, heredity. No matter what the cause, you can still reduce the appearance of puffiness or dark circles, and in some cases, you may be able to get rid of them altogether.

    [edit] Steps

    1. Establish whether or not this condition runs in the family. Dark circles in particular are believed to frequently be hereditary. This doesn’t mean that you can’t do anything about the conditions, but you should be prepared for minimal success actually trying to get rid of them. Dark circles under the eye may also, in fact, be light carbon deposits that result from incomplete protein digestion. Incomplete protein digestion may result from insufficient hydrochloric acid in your stomach that may be caused from a lack of primarily B6 and Folic Acid. About 30% of the population does not absorb regular B6 (pydroxine) or folic acid and need to take in these vitamins in a different form or another way.

    2. Identify allergens. Allergies may be the most common cause of skin discoloration and puffiness under the eyes. If allergies are the root of your problem, you simply need to treat them or remove the allergen (i.e., the thing to which you are allergic). Seasonal allergy problems such as the hay fever can frequently be effectively treated with over-the-counter and prescription medications. For other allergies the best course of action is usually avoidance. If your dark circles or puffiness are constant, you may have an undetected food allergy or an allergy to a chemical in your home or workplace. Talk to a dermatologist for help determining what you may be allergic to. People with allergies also tend again to be deficient in B6, folic acid and B12 on occasion. Taking a multivitamin, if you don't already, may help with your allergies as well as black circles.

    Bloodshot Eye

Get plenty of sleep nightly. It’s not entirely clear why inadequate sleep results in dark circles under the eyes, but we’ve all seen it happen either to ourselves or someone we know. For one thing, lack of sleep tends to cause the skin to become paler (thus increasing the appearance of darkness under the eyes), and it reduces circulation. It’s also believed that too little time lying down is a cause in itself. Determine how much sleep you need (it’s usually 7-9 hours per night, but varies throughout different people) and try to get that amount regularly for a couple of weeks to see if that helps. Remember that alcohol and drugs can adversely affect the quality of your sleep; abstain from these products or use only in moderation for best results. A lack of sleep, coupled with poor vitamin absorption also tends to reduce adrenal function. The less adrenal function you have the less B6 you tend to absorb, the less B6 you absorb, the less well your adrenal glands work and alas you end up in a vicious circle. Sleep, regular vitamins for those that need them, and good calcium/magnesium support in the form of milk or good mineral supplement restores adrenal function. So if you want to break the cycle and the black circles under your eyes, you've got to reduce your stress, sleep more and take the proper vitamins and minerals to support the adrenal function in general.

Treat your skin while you sleep. There are overnight facial masques available that may help reduce the appearance of puffiness or discoloration, but you can also make your own. Just before you go to bed, take a washcloth and wet it just a bit with cold water. Then squeeze out any excess water and place it over your eyes as you sleep. Treating your skin may help, but the real problem may also be that you have a poor vitamin and mineral absorption problem that must also be corrected. Seeing a naturopathic physician may help for those people who suffer other ailments such as miscellaneous aches and pains that come and go and a general run down feeling.

    Cucumber Therapy

    Cucumber Therapy

Apply cool tea bags, an ice cube wrapped in soft cloth, or cucumber slices to your eyes daily. The tannin in tea bags has been shown to reduce swelling and discoloration, and cucumber slices have long been used to reduce puffiness and refresh the appearance of skin around the eyes. Lie down, preferably in the morning, and leave fresh cucumber slices or cool, damp caffeinated tea bags (you can refrigerate them overnight so they’ll be ready) over your eyes for about 10-15 minutes. Keep your eyes closed.

    6. Wash your face with cool to somewhat cold water in the morning or when puffiness occurs. The cold water will cause blood vessels to constrict, and thus reduces swelling.

    7. Try to relax the space. You can do this by wetting a cotton swab and then freezing it for a little while. Then you should gently wipe under your eyes in the areas where the circles are occurring. When wiping, close your eyes and try not to flinch.

    8.

Apply an eye cream containing vitamin K and retinol. Dark circles may be caused by a deficiency of vitamin K. Regardless of the cause, however, recent research has shown that skin creams containing these two ingredients reduce puffiness and discoloration significantly in many patients. Long-term daily use seems to have the greatest effect.

    9. Avoid rubbing your eyes. Usually rubbing of the eyes is brought on by allergies, but not always. Regardless of the reason, stop doing it. The rubbing irritates the skin and can break tiny capillaries beneath the skin, causing both puffiness and discoloration.

    10. Eat a healthy, balanced diet and drink plenty of water. A whole host of cosmetic problems can be attributed to vitamin deficiencies. Dark circles and puffiness are often attributed to lack of vitamin K or inadequate antioxidants. Be sure to get plenty of fruits and vegetables—especially cabbage, spinach, and other leafy green vegetables—and take a daily vitamin supplement if necessary. Get adequate fluids to improve circulation.

    11. Reduce salt intake. Excess salt causes the body to retain water in unusual places, and this can result in puffiness under the eyes. Too much salt can also impair your circulation, and cause the blood vessels under the skin to appear bluer.

    12. Quit smoking. Smoking causes vascular (blood vessel) problems that can not only threaten your life, but also make your blood vessels appear more prominent and bluer beneath the skin.

    13.

Cover the problem up with cosmetics. If all else fails, use a yellow or flesh-toned color which will camouflage the problem.

    [edit] Tips

    * Food allergies and sensitivities play a major part in under-eye circles. Processed foods with artificial colors and preservatives as well as milk allergies can cause this problem.

    * Search the Internet which abounds with home remedies. While the most common are cucumbers and tea bags, there are a number of others. Feel free to test them out, as some may work for some people, but use common sense.

    * Vitamin K cream helps to diminish dark under eye circles.

    * The ingredient in Preparation H that once could shrink the area around the eyes is no longer put in the product, according to their website, so just pass on the Hemorrhoid creams.

    * Cutting onions can help you to cry out some of the moisture under and around your eyes. However it isn't recommended that you carry out this procedure daily but done short-term, it will reduce the darkness under the eyes somewhat. Using the tea bag method under your eyes straight afterwards also helps. The puffiness may not reduce immediately but it will shortly afterwards.

    * Another trick is to put two tablespoons in the freezer for few minutes and apply on the eyes for few seconds, until they are warm. Re-apply if necessary.

    * Dark circles may be caused by inflamed or enlarged veins beneath the skin. Try taking butcher's broom. Taken daily, this common herb (used to treat weak circulation, hemorrhoids and varicose veins) has been effective in reducing dark circles.

    [edit] Warnings

    * Be careful about what type of teabag you use. If you have allergies a tea bag like chamomile might swell your eyes.

    * Do not apply ice or extremely cold water directly to the skin around the eyes for more than a couple of seconds.

    * Exercise caution when using a new cosmetic product or trying a home remedy. If the condition worsens, or if you exhibit other symptoms, discontinue use immediately and contact your primary care physician or dermatologist for severe or persisting symptoms.

    * Consult a physician before considering using any expensive or invasive treatments. Not all Eye Circles are formed equally, and understanding and discussing the root causes of your dark circles with a qualified professional will ensure you don't waste your money.
I believe cosmetics are made to make you look better or enhance your natural features. Having dark circles under the eyes may be due to many factors especially lack of sleep but not always. It may also be due to bone structure (hereditary) that cast shadows when light strikes the under eye area. You can use it everyday even without foundation. the trick is to eliminate these shadows. Just pat it gently to blend well so you won't harm the delicate skin area(use a concealer brush or your pinkie finger to blend. The concealer itself doesn't harm the skin unless you're allergic to one of its ingredients) and it won't be obvious that you're wearing one.

You won't know what's best for you unless you experiment. It's not easy with a lot of products available in the market and the sales ladies will certainly tell you their product is the best there is so be careful when you shop. However sales persons could help you in determining the best shade though. It's a matter of personal choice after.

Having been trying several for so many years, for me the liquid one is the hardest to use. Lean on a cream concealer because its easier to blend without tugging the skin. Use it everyday if you want.
i believe you can wear it with foundation..not without it as it will distinctly show..

please try wearing it in combination.

l'o real offers a very good concealer try it out.
