exfoliate every other day to wipe away dead skin cells......then put on a moisturizer every morning after cleansing.....you could just be using the rong one.....i would suggest Ahava or Clinique....those are both really good....use a good foundation that wont dry out your skin too i ould suggest Diorshow Airflash, Clinique, Benefit or Bare Minerals.....for concealer i would suggest Clinique.....using good products is essential to have good, soft, healthy skin.....it is definitely worth the price!When ever i put my concealer or foundation on after i put moisturizer on my face gets scabby and dry.?
You need to put on loads of moisturiser, paying attention to any particularly dry areas and let it sink in to your skin completely before you apply any foundation, etc. Then, once your skin is more or less dry, moisturiser with your foundation, maybe about 60% moisturiser, 40% foundation. It won't give you much coverage but will provide a good base for the rest of your make up, whilst ensuring that your skin stays hydrated for as long as possible. Then, continue to apply foundation as normal, but the key is not too put on too much as rather than the moisturiser being the problem, it's probably the foundation. Keep it minimal- it looks much better anyway. (:

My skin gets the same way, the thing if after you moisturize you also need to put on a primer, like Smashbox photofinish primer, or Mac Prep and Prime. Then when you put on your concealer it won't be all flakey and dry. Then your foundation also won't be flakey and dry.
Primer also helps your foundation and concealer stay on longer.

Try a tinted moisturiser, foundation makes spots come and dries out skin. You could make your own tinted moisturiser by mixing your moisturiser with concealer, it only takes 5 minutes and its good for your skin. Dont cake on, slowly blend in a circular movement!

Mine does the same too. I put moisturizer on, and then my foundation, then I put moisturizer on the dry spots, and then a little more foundation. It works for me(:
Maybe try a tinted mousturizer instead of concealer then apply your foundation.

Is there any foundation and concealer help?
im sixteen.
im really good with makeup, but i have never been able to master the whole ';covering blemishes'; thing.
because no matter how i do it, it never covers them up right.
any good concealers, foundations, or tips would be much appreciated.

There are three things that I use for this. Oil of Olay sensitive skin SPF lotion, Cover Girl TruBlend, and Covergirl concealer stick. Put a small amount of TruBlend and Oil of Olay in the palm of your hand a mix it together. Apply this blend to your face like you were putting moisturizer on-- will give you a good base. Then dab the concealer stick on the area where you need coverage. Use your finger to ';pat'; and ';blend'; the concealer. Finish with a translucent powder.
All of this should help you cover and get an even base so it doesn't look like you have this awkward patch of concealer on your face. Is there any foundation and concealer help?
My absolute favorite liquid foundation is TRUblend by Covergirl. I have used it since it came out years ago. (It's around $8) I use classic ivory because it's only very slightly lighter than my natural complexion.. picking a darker color would just be silly.
Anyway, I have one of those huge painful ones on my chin right now, so I just take a small amount and DAB it on. (Smearing it will only dilute its coverage) Then I take their powder/compact ($4-5) and dab that over the foundation to set it and make it look natural... well... check it out in different lights like your room and bathroom to make sure it's not obvious. the whole point is to cover it up, right? :/ That's my blemish covering routine!
Smooth foundation mean you don't get a dodgy powdery look whilst for concealers it is very hard to get a cheap concealer which actually works the way you want it too, go for one ';Yves Saint Laurent'; or one similair to the touch up brush usually used for eyes as they work miracles ;]
I personally love the covergirl product line for coversticks and powder. They really do the job when it comes to covering up a minor imperfection and perfecting your true beauty. :-) Good Luck

Hey guys. So here's my problem. I've tried tons of different eye creams and tons of different concealers. But no matter what I use, they all make the skin underneath my eyes look shiny. Its really bothering me. For reference, I have combination skin that tends to be more on the dry side, especially in the fall and winter. Can anybody recommend me a good eye cream and a good concealer for my skin type that wont make my under eye area look like a disco ball? go to any cosmetics counter at a department store (if you do this you tell the woman that is helping you that you ARE going to buy the foundation, you just need to be matched. if you don't she may not help you to her full capability, i know this because i have worked at 3 cosmetics counters in the past 5 years). make sure she picks out 3 colors and tests them on your jawline and step into a well lit area to make sure which one is the correct match. make sure that you inform her what type of skin you have so she can pick the right formulation (perscriptives is a bit on the heavy side as far as coverage goes)
never pick a foundation color in the summer, your skin tone will change if you tan and your foundation will look funny come autumn. if you must do that, pick a shade that is closer to your color than darker (which most people do).
make sure your concealer is a bit lighter than your foundation but not too light, you want to make your eyes look bright.
it's best to use a translucent powder so you look more radiant than covered up.
apply the following in this order:

My crash course-
Concealor- Place smallish amount(youll be able to tell) under eyes, corners of your eyes( the part by your nose), down the center of your nose, and any other dark, red, area or any area that has acne, and blend in. Dont worry if you can still see it, becasue foundation will cover it.
Foundation- I use only a little at a time, and spread it out as far as i can and rub it in. I separate my face into sections when I do it, so I start with my cheeks and then to my forehead. I put a little over my eyelids as well.
Powder- Dip in large blush type brush, tap it several times on the container,and spread all over face in large circles. If you look to ghostly, you can take light Bronzer and brush it on the apples of your cheek, your jaw bone and your teples and blend or you can run over it gently with tissue.
First apply foundation, then concealer, and then apply powder to 'set' the make up.
As for color, you'd want to either experiment with that or go to a make up department to someone who can help you choose the clostest tone for you.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:
Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water %26amp; stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath %26amp; let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K %26amp; Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

Maybelline mineral power natural perfecting concealer is pretty good i must say. But my personal favorite and by far the best concealer ive bought is Time Balm concealer by The balm. You can buy it at Sephora, its a bit pricey(18$ for a tiny jar, a little bit goes a long way) but its the best. All you gotta do it rub it in, or pat it in till blended.
First b4 u buy the concealer identify ur skin type. If you have an Oily skin do not use an oil base concealer always use a water base concealer. Secondly always buy a concealer One shade darker to ur skin tone only then u can easly blend it in ur skin. B4 applying it cleanse ur face with a good face wash pat dry it apply the concealer in dots on the affected area blend it well in ur skin once done apply a good foundation. Appy a perfect shade of concealer the foundation should match ur skin tone. finish it off with a good compact powder.

if you get a stick concealer you just put stripes of it on your face and and under your eyes rub it all in.

Boi-ing Benefit. Definitly the best by far. Both mine that i had bought had lasted me a year each. I was well impressed considering i use it everyday to cover dark circles and blemishes. You could still check them out though. if you're looking for something less expensive, you can try maybelline. I use maybelline liquid one, i think they really work and they're cheap! Though i think they only have 3 shades. If none work for you, you should try rimmel, revlon, whatever you can find that has your shade of colour. You shouldnt really use this concealer for both undereye and the face because the shade for your face SHOULD suit the face but the shade for the undereye should be a little lighter than that. concealer: try the concealer by Amazing Cosmetics but get a color that seems a little light for your skin tone so that when you put it on it doesnt look orange. it works great though and you only need a tiny bit so it lasts long. clinique also has good concealers that wont clog pores.
foundation: if you want mineral foundation than you should buy bareminerals. the starter kit. and if you do get that then you dont need to buy concealer because the mineral foundation doubles as an great concealer when you use the concealer brush which comes in the kit.
if you want liquid foundation then i would reccomend dior. they hav a variety of different types that you can choose from. you might even try their airflash foundation which is spray foundation so it looks air brushed. and is light weight. or you could try foundation from clinique which works well if you dont want to have any breakouts or have sensitive skin.
for the extra products i do reccomend that you get a basic highlighter that you can use along the cheeks bones, on the brow bones and even above the upper lip and in the center, after applying lip gloss, of the bottom lip. this will give you a full pout look that everyone wants.

Best mascara is Dior. (Get Dior Iconic, its AMAZING)
Best concealer is Lancome. (use under eye waterproof. i use it for all of my blemishes, not just for under my eyes..)
Best foundation is bare minerals. (can wear to bed and wont cause breakouts)
I wear all of those every day and my make up looks really good. I reccomend alsoo getting Make Up Forever's HD powder. It gives a good finish to your make up and makes it last.

I have reallyyy dark circles under my eyes and i have to wear concealer all the time. I can't find a good one though. The one i'm using right now is crappy, but it's all i can find. Oh...I put it on with an eyeshadow fluffy brush under eye, then kinda pat it with my fingertips. It stays put all day and is really water resistant. Great stuff. They have samples for like $1 and ship em free:)

hey there , concealer, all the big cosmetic companies dont test products on animals or use animal oil in any way, and for the one thats right for you, it all depends on your age, skin colour and skin tone, and what type of coverage do you want?? light medium or full ??? do you have fine lines around yr eyes because if you do and you wear a full coverage concealer it will make your lines stand out more, you really need to speak with a consultant at your closest myer or david jones store, you dont have to buy their product just ask them what tone you are , tell them what you want and they will point you in the right direction, if your aged between 15 and 28 i say try clinique and napoleaon or mac but dont cake it on because people will notice when you look powdery under your eyes, also apply the product gently, your eye area is the first part of your face to show ageing, i hope i helped ya ..

Any suggestions for a waterproof undereye concealer?
I'm going on vacation soon, and I don't want to wear a lot of makeup, but I have really dark circles under my eyes... Does anybody know of a good concealer that is waterproof? Preferrably something from a drugstore, or that I can find at Ulta, because I don't have time to order one online and there's not a MAC or Sephora or anything by me :-[

I had used Proactive to try and clear up some acne and instead it burned skin off my nose. I had this horrible red spot that was completely noticeable. I used the Arbonne concealer and it covered it up..my husband couldn't even see the spot. Foundation can be in the form of powder, but it isn't popular. It usually is liquid, whipped, or in a spray. Foundation is for heavier coverage than powder. Powder just helps foundation look more natural, or it can be done by itself for just everyday. Concealer is to help cover just spot areas, like dark circles or acne.
I think that powder alone gives a cake-y look, and so does liquid foundation. I use whipped (I love spray too) foundation, powder over that, and concealer to cover my imperfections.

bobbi brown, hands down.
the bobbi brown correctors are fantastic! they come in bisque and peach shades, which work great as they are warm and make the cool tones of under-eye circles disappear. I use one under my foundation (as i worry that it might look a bit orange on top like a regular concealer would,) and my circles vanish.
if you're not into colour correcting the creamy concealer from bobbi brown is really nice as well.
I have used mac's studio finish concealers in the past, and they also have great coverage. the nw shades are good, as the warmth helps to counteract the cool tones under your eyes, but I still prefer the bobbi brown ones.Which brand do you think makes the best undereye concealer?

The most wonderful concealer i have ever used is MAC studio finish SPF 35.
The most amazing think about it is the texture, it is so light and literally blends in seconds, then it just looks like your skin is perfect!
Here is the MAC description, and i can swear it is all true!!

I love mark.'s Speedway ';Do Everything Makeup'; for covering up imperfections. It is a cream-to-powder stick foundation that is perfect to even skin tone. But Speedway definitely does it all!

try to go to a beauty supply store sometime no matter how expensive the brand is u can buy it at a mall or at wal-mart but have same results always go to the pros to the supply store and it depends what u are trying to cover ur basic concelaer colors are green blue and yellow then u can cover that over with ur foundation and it will even out the green is mainly for reddish blemishes and the blue is for yellowish spots the yellow is mainly for the purple like under ur eyes
I like MAC studio Tech and then I use MAC studio fix on top. Studio Tech is applied with a foundation brush all over the face including under eyes, and Fix is applied with a sponge or brush on top. I think they are like $35 each, but they are awesome:)
I wouldnt use anything besides maybelline Dream Matte mousse, its the best foundation, cover up, whatever...its amazing!! And the little container for like 7 dollars lasts me a about 5 months!

The most wonderful concealer i have ever used is MAC studio finish SPF 35.
The most amazing think about it is the texture, it is so light and literally blends in seconds, then it just looks like your skin is perfect!

I love mark.'s Speedway ';Do Everything Makeup'; for covering up imperfections. It is a cream-to-powder stick foundation that is perfect to even skin tone. It will help you cover up some of what you don't like, but also leave a natural looking finish. (It's only $8) They also have a concealor called Invisible Touch, which works really well. But Speedway definitely does it all!

try to go to a beauty supply store sometime no matter how expensive the brand is u can buy it at a mall or at wal-mart but have same results always go to the pros to the supply store and it depends what u are trying to cover ur basic concelaer colors are green blue and yellow then u can cover that over with ur foundation and it will even out the green is mainly for reddish blemishes and the blue is for yellowish spots the yellow is mainly for the purple like under ur eyes
I like MAC studio Tech and then I use MAC studio fix on top. Studio Tech is applied with a foundation brush all over the face including under eyes, and Fix is applied with a sponge or brush on top. I think they are like $35 each, but they are awesome:)
I wouldnt use anything besides maybelline Dream Matte mousse, its the best foundation, cover up, whatever...its amazing!! And the little container for like 7 dollars lasts me a about 5 months!

They're products specialized for skin care, so wont clog your pores or break you out, but you have to make sure you pick based on your skin. As concealers tend to get cakey and can make the under eyes apear worst than better. But if you decide to use foundation, concealer or illuminator blending is the key. Your fingers are better for appling.
Getting enough sleep is not always viable so, you can either put a spoon in the freezer for a few minutes then use as a compress for the under eyes, or pat a bit of preparation H on, or place your used tea bags (with caffiene) in the freezer for a few minutes then place them over eyes before applying makeup.

lemon aid by benefit its a yellow based colour corector that works wonders on eyebags and dark or red toned eyelids. Dab all around the eye area and use your ordinary foundation ontop. Always make sure that when you do put the foundation over the lemon aid that you dab it around the eye area and blend outwards from there otherwise you may rub it away if you rub it in as we do around the ret of the face.
#1: get Sudden Change undereye Serum...it gets rid of bags immediately!!
#2: buy Quo's 4 pallet concealer in green, yellow, orange and pink... use the yellow to get rid of darkness under your eyes and the green if there is redness.
#3: apply a foundation overtop once you've concealed imperfections
#4 : finish with a loose powder..
no one will ever know you have bags under your eyes...

Benefit's industiral concealer in 01 (boing) is excellent, especially if you use it with their anti dark circle cream and depuffer first - then followed by ysl's touche eclat as an illuminator. I have very dark bags under my furry eyes and these really do the trick. Space \NK's concealer isn't too bad either.
I went into boots and asked the clinique assistant. It all depends on your skin and the colour. You always need a darker concealer then you think as paler ones make you look ashy. Go in to any make up counter they will be happy to help find the right one for you.
Prevention is better than cure: you need some early nights babe! Get drinking plenty of water to rectify that problem. Eyes suffer like the rest of your body: - poor diet, not enough sleep and not drinking enough fluids. It may seem old fashioned but chilling out on your own can help.. put some sliced cucumber onto your (two onto each lid) eyelids for a few mins everyday. if you have more time, treat yourself to a face pack and then put the cucumber on. Relax with some lovely music and candles! Drink some herbal tea and unwind. Ciao xx

A make up artist told me that a good concealer was better than anything else inlcluding illuminators such as touche eclat. The best i have found is the Bobbi Brown corrector. It is amazing.
A little bit of conceler is best( you don't want to put to much on and look like a racoon) than wear a light color eyeshadow that opens up your eyes and brings the attention there. than add 2 layers of mascara.
if your eyes are green go with a light yellow gold or orange
blue eyes look good with pinks and mauvs
brown eyes look good with blues and litle greens
or just try yout own concotion of colors I have green eyes and find that yellow and blue work wonders!!!!
actually get a cucumber and slice it. put a slice over your eyes. lay down, light candles, play relaxing music. it works.

You could try dabbing vitamin E oil carefully around the eye area. Also get proper nutrition. But there is no instant cure.
i have dark circles too, my mom and fiance always say they're not bad, but if i can see them that's all that matters. i have fair skin, so i have tried using self tanner everywhere else, then removing it from under my eyes, so my skin is closer in color to the circles, didn't work. i've used ysl touche eclat, didn't work, smashbox concealer, didn't work, right now i'm using bare minerals well rested, and it works pretty good, it doesn't fall into creases like the creamy ones did.
Probably broken capillaries. Been there, done that. See a dermatologist...getting them zapped may help...definitely sleep more, and drink more water...good luck!
dermablend will knock them out! for dark circles use a color with a red untertone as opposed to yellow. and make sure its a couple shades lighter than your natural skintone. use this under the eye only. use your regular tone everywhere else.

I can actually go without make-up now and not look like my boyfriend beats me!

I use both of the concealers made by Rimmel.
I use Almay Line Smoothing Concealer for under the eyes and Almay Clear Complexion Concealer for pimples, because it has Salicylic Acid in it that kills the pimples.
You might try using a silicone-based primer under your eyes before applying concealer. Primer is a clear gel that creates a smooth surface for the concealer to adhere to and helps prevent creasing. Try PhotoFinish by Smashbox. It is somewhat expensive, but it will do the job. You could also look on Sephora. They have around 10 or so good primers at various prices.

I use both of the concealers made by Rimmel.
I use Almay Line Smoothing Concealer for under the eyes and Almay Clear Complexion Concealer for pimples, because it has Salicylic Acid in it that kills the pimples.
You might try using a silicone-based primer under your eyes before applying concealer. Primer is a clear gel that creates a smooth surface for the concealer to adhere to and helps prevent creasing. Try PhotoFinish by Smashbox. It is somewhat expensive, but it will do the job. You could also look on Sephora. They have around 10 or so good primers at various prices.

yh go on to the MAC website and go onto the foundations, there is one called full coverage, it is really good, it covers up tattoos, marks, all that sort of stuff, many people thinks it pricey but for something that works that well, i think its worth it... have a luck and see what you think... good luck.x.x

Don't people who wear all that foundation makeup on their faces feel as if they are sort of tricking their boyfriend? I don't agree, and I also don't believe makeup has the power to make someone beautiful, if the person is not. Makeup only helps to minimize blemishes, scars, and also to make your skin even.
I do wear makeu, but I don't like to go overboars, I like the more natural look. My boyfriend has seem me with and without makeup, and he says I look beautiful both ways. He does preffer me without makeup, but he also likes when I put makeup when we go out, he says I look really pretty.

How far down do you wear it before you stop? I know a women with terrible acne that wears heavy foundation (which is only making the acne worse) all the way down into her cleavage. Why, I don't know, because it's not like she has to hide the fact that she's wearing liquid makeup. It's gross.
I prefer a tinted moisturizer that acts like light foundation- gives your skin a lift without making you like like Mimi Bobeck.

If I was a guy and I hooked up a good looking girl and I brought her home and had her sleep over and she brought no makeup and it smeared all over my sheets, I would be upset. It is wrong. I don't wear that much make up. I have naturally dark under eyes and I have tried every product, until the doctor said it genetic. I use concealer under my eyes and some blemishes, I apply very little blush and apply mascara and I'm good to go.
Makeup is worn to enhance your beauty. If you are taking the time and effort to make your self look more attractive when you go out, any boyfriend or spouse should feel really proud and flattered that you are trying to look your best. (You wouldn't go out without fixing your hair, would you?). If you go with a more natural look around the house, it shouldn't be an issue. That where you're supposed to be most comfortable. It all part of accepting who each other is, not about how you look with or without makeup; but for who you are. Any guy that's worth while already knows this. Besides, he probably already knows if you're wearing makeup and figures you look different without it. I doubt he he'll run for the door if he see you without it. Some guys even prefer their woman doesn't wear makeup. So I guess the trick is on the woman who thinks she is tricking him by wearing makeup. However, if you do find a guy who insists you wear makeup because of how you look without it, I'd be the one running for the door!

I take a dime size amount of Rimmel London Lasting Finish, in a shade that matches my jaw line and 2 squirts of Clean %26amp; Clear Oil Free Dual Action Moisturizer and mix together. I apply all over my face with a triangle sponge. I use extra under my eyes to cover bags.
For eye make up- I have green eyes so browns purples reds and pinks make my eyes pop. I use brown eyeliner when i use browns and reds. I smudge it right in my bottom eye lash line and right above my top lash line. Then I use the color on my eye, under the middle line. I take a shimmer color and smear it in the corner of my eyes and under my eyebrow lightly. I also use black eyeliner in the same way.
On my eye lashes I curl them, I use black mascara when I use black eye liner and no mascara when I use brown because my hair is brown. You can also use clear as a ';top coat'; or just to give them an umpfh.
Lips- I think darker skin tones should use lipstick. The darker the skin, darker the lipstick. Also a light layer of lip balm or gloss. Shimmer and Sparkles are for five year olds, so I don't suggest them. For light skin tones a more nude color is good. If you have gold under tones I suggest reds and pinks. Red undertones nude or light pink colors. Olive undertones should stay with their lip color.
Cheeks- Blush was more of a 80s-90s era thing, but I think it's making a small comeback. Peaches and Pinks for dark skin tones, and Bronzes and soft browns for lighter skin tones. If you don't have strong cheek bones more is better. Go from the apple to right under the temple. Don't make a circle motion when applying, a straight line from apple to temple motion works best.

There's always (well nearly) something you can do to save your makeup:
*For cakey concealer I would recommend using moisturizer just before applying your concealer, this will help it go on more evenly. Also try to use small amounts to make it look nicer.
*From personal experience clumpy mascara can be saved. What I do is buy a clear mascara (or a primer mascara, mine is a really cheap drugstore brand) then apply a coat of the clear mascara before applying the clumpy mascara, first of all this helps your lashes to be wet so the the brush can slide through, and this method means that my clumpier mascaras are actually BETTER than some of my more expensive ones. If you have a lash brush, or a clean mascara brush then brush that through your lashes to comb out any clumps. It's a creamy-sheer, easy-to-blend concealer that hydrates and protects as it hides blemishes and dark circles that comes in a pod with many different skin tones.
My trick is to use fraichelle LE LIPSTIQUE ( a lip pencil also by Lancome) and put some under the the eye- dap it on then put the concealer on top... it's like a miracle happening before your eyes!!!
The lip pencil is waterproof and creamy so it works great!

i agree with vanilla face. lol. covering something up like that is just going to make it look more obvious. leave your mole alone or get it removed. i suggest just leaving it alone for now.
